The MC1 PLUS is a variant of our award winning MC1, the difference is that it has additional options to aid the use of high output MC cartridges via different input loading options and a 50dB gain option, these are only for use via the MM input. Low output MC performance is also enhanced by the use of improved low noise op-amp in the first gain stage. So if you are using high output MC or want some ability to tune the MM input for use with passive pre-amps then this is your better option. It retains all of the performance of the MC1 but has added functionality but most importantly, it also delivers in the sound department as well, with expansive and detailed sound staging, drive and dynamics that are normally associated with much more expensive phono stages. It can be further upgraded through the use of the dedicated PSU1 outboard Power supply.
Attention to detail also extends to the custom made plug top power supply, which with its use of a split rail design benefits from using + and - DC power outputs for better rejection of RF noise. It also uses a gold plated custom made PCB with high quality diodes and optimized snubber caps. This is no normal 'off the shelf' PSU as used by the competition.....
